Connect your miners
Every miner gets the same four values. Replace handle with your handle and rig01 with a name for that machine.
| Field in your miner | Value |
|---|---|
| URL | stratum+tcp://stratum.hashpay.obm.io:3333Firmware with separate fields: host stratum.hashpay.obm.io, port 3333. |
| Port | 3333 |
| Worker / username | handle.rig01Your handle, a dot, a rig name of your choice. The handle alone also works and is shown as rig default. Upper or lower case in the handle does not matter. |
| Password | xAny value is accepted. |
Vantage HashPay speaks Stratum V1 over plain TCP, the protocol every ASIC and ESP-Miner device uses for pool mining. Stratum V2 is not supported.
Per-firmware notes
The same four values, in the words each firmware uses. These notes say which field takes which value, nothing more.
Bitaxe / AxeOS
Host and port are separate fields: the stratum host takes stratum.hashpay.obm.io without a scheme, the stratum port takes 3333. The stratum user takes handle.rig01, the password x.
Braiins OS
The pool URL takes the full stratum+tcp://stratum.hashpay.obm.io:3333 (not a stratum2+tcp:// address), the user takes handle.rig01, the password x.
Antminer stock firmware
The pool URL takes stratum+tcp://stratum.hashpay.obm.io:3333, the worker takes handle.rig01, the password x. Use pool 1; Vantage HashPay does its own fail-over between your pools.
LuxOS
The pool URL takes stratum+tcp://stratum.hashpay.obm.io:3333, the user takes handle.rig01, the password x.
Questions
How do the weights become a split?
Each pool's share is its weight divided by the sum of the enabled weights. Whole miners are moved when that is enough; when it is not, miners divide their time between pools, and a single miner spends 50/30/20% of its time on three pools weighted 50/30/20. A rotating miner stays on a pool for 60 seconds at a time; a pool that gets less than 10% of its time gets shorter visits, never under 15 seconds.
What does a miner notice when it switches?
Nothing on the connection: it stays connected to Vantage HashPay and receives the next pool's job and difficulty. Shares for the previous job still go to the previous pool while that pool accepts the job.
What happens when a pool goes down?
A pool that stops answering is noticed within about half a minute while shares are flowing, or after five minutes without new work. Its miners move to your other pools and return once it has been up again for a minute. With every pool down, miners stay connected and get work as soon as one pool is back.
Do my pools credit all my work?
A miner never mines above the difficulty its pool judges the job at, and the shares Vantage HashPay forwards are a uniform sample of its work at that difficulty, so each pool's expected credit equals the work done for it.
Why does my pool show my worker as offline now and then?
With "use my rig names at the pool" on, a miner that rotates between pools appears at each pool only during its turns. Pools that alert on offline workers may fire. Turn the option off to have the pool see one steady worker.
Is AsicBoost (version rolling) supported?
Yes. Vantage HashPay negotiates version rolling with your pools and gives each miner one mask that works on all of them. ESP-Miner devices such as the Bitaxe also work where a pool does not grant it.
How soon does a change to my pools apply?
Within seconds of saving. Weights apply at once; a changed pool is reconnected and its miners re-placed; a removed pool's miners move to the others.
What does "delivered" mean on the dashboard?
The share of your hashrate each pool got over the last hour, measured by the shares your pools accepted. It wanders around the target with share luck, by about ±1.5 points per hour for one miner on a 20% pool, and settles over a day.
Partner API
A program can read your account's live state and change its pools, weights and split mode with an API key, get signed webhook calls for your events, and try all of it against simulated pools in sandbox mode. Keys, webhooks and the sandbox are managed on the Integrations page of your dashboard. The API reference has every call with examples.
